City of Culver City, California City Council Agenda Item Report RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council continue this public hearing to Monday, December 8, 2008. BACKGROUND: On September 8, 2008, the City Council adopted a resolution which set this evening at 7:00 PM as the date and time for the consideration of granting an oil pipeline franchise to ExxonMobil. On October 13, 2008, the City Council further continued this Public Hearing to this evening. DISCUSSION: Based upon the City Council’s action to conditionally approve a request from ExxonMobil to grant the third and final five year extension to the current franchise, staff has requested a number of documents/actions from ExxonMobil. While it was thought all of those actions could be completed by this date, that has not occurred. Until all the documents and actions requested have been completed, staff is not prepared to make a recommendation on a re-negotiated franchise with ExxonMobil. It is expected this issue would be resolved prior to the meeting of December 8, 2008. FISCAL ANALYSIS: There is no fiscal impact associated with continuing this public hearing. ATTACHMENTS: None.
