BACKGROUND: At the City Council meeting of July 25 2011 the City Council considered (and ultimately unanimously approved) a proposal to place before the voters an increase in the City s TOT from 12% to 14%. Pursuant to this direction of the City Council staff anticipates bringing forward the official resolutions related to the call of the election and the placement of the TOT measure before the voters on October 24 2011.
