RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration & Juneteenth Celebration Advisory Committee receive and file an update from the members of the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration & Juneteenth Celebration Ad Hoc Subcommittees.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The Juneteenth Ad Hoc Subcommittees was established September 18, 2024, and was updated July 23, 2025. This is an opportunity for them to check in with their progress and share updates.
A subcommittee's primary role is to support the special event staff by identifying opportunities and strategies for enhancing the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration &Juneteenth Celebration events. This report serves as an update from the subcommittee members on their progress and recommendations.
MCJC Advisory Committee Ad Hoc Subcommittees
An "ad hoc" subcommittee serves only a limited or single purpose. It is not perpetual, and it is dissolved when its specific task is completed. An Ad Hoc Subcommittee may be formed or dissolved at any Advisory committee meeting, as long as the discussion has been placed on the agenda in advance.
