RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council approve the specifications and authorize the publication of a notice inviting bids for the ADA Sidewalk Repair Project, PS-011 (CDBG Project No. 602758-25).


BACKGROUND

On November 11, 2024, the City Council approved Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) fund allocation for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 which includes the construction of new ADA curb ramps and repair and replacement of existing uplifted sidewalk to ADA compliant sidewalk at various locations across the City based on previously submitted resident reports and site visits by City staff. The CDBG project number associated with this fund allocation is 602758-25.

The bid documents that include specifications and exhibits have been designed by engineering staff. Also, the Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) has reviewed the documents and deemed them acceptable in meeting CDBG funding program requirements.

This project will focus on the following areas:

* Blair Hills neighborhood: The construction of four new ADA curb ramps at the intersection of Wrightcrest Drive and Lenawee Avenue
* Milton Avenue: The removal and replacement of a curb ramp at Milton Avenue and Aletta Avenue, as well as repair of uplifted sidewalk along Milton Avenue
