RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration and Juneteenth Celebration Advisory Committee (Advisory Committee) observe the administration of the Oath of Office to newly appointed Committee Member Carissa Joy Smith.
BACKGROUND/ DISCUSSION
ADMINISTRATION OF THE OATH OF OFFICE
On June 10, 2024, the City Council appointed Carissa Joy Smith to the Advisory Committee Seat Number 8 for a full-term expiring June 30, 2028. To begin her term, the Advisory Committee Secretary will administer the Constitutional and Loyalty Oaths to the newly appointed Committee Member, both parties will sign duplicate originals of the document, and Committee Member Smith will retain one of the signed documents.
