RECOMMENDATION

Approve a five-year and four-month agreement amendment for emergency police and fire dispatch services with the South Bay Regional Public Communications Authority (SBRPCA) to provide police and fire dispatch and vehicle builds in an amount not-to-exceed $15,504,853.00 through June 30, 2027.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

On October 16, 2016, the City Council approved a five-year Agreement with South Bay Regional Public Communications Authority (SBRPCA) in an amount not-to-exceed $12,732,387.00. The SBRPCA (also referred to as the "RCC" for Regional Communications Center) has provided Police and Fire dispatch services and fleet services (vehicle buildouts) to Culver City since March 2017.

The RCC, a California Joint Powers Authority, formed under California Government Code section 6500 et seq., by its three owner cities -- Hawthorne, Gardena, and Manhattan Beach, provides contract Police and Fire dispatch services to the cities of Hermosa Beach, El Segundo, and Culver City.
