RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration & Juneteenth Celebration Advisory Committee (1) review Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Budget Recommendations to the City Council; and (2) if desired, authorize transmittal by staff of the correspondence to the City Manager.
BACKGROUND/ DISCUSSION
Beginning in Fiscal Year 2014-2015, the City Council instituted an enhanced budget process. This process provides additional opportunities for the public to provide input into the budget document. Further, the City Council now specifically invites members of the City's Commissions, Committees, and Boards to provide comments during the City's budget process.
On January 15, 2025, the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration & Juneteenth Celebration Advisory Committee (Advisory Committee) reviewed the money allocated for the Martin Luther King Jr Event and Juneteenth Event for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 and discussed potential increase in services for each event.
