RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Disability Advisory Committee (1) consider the nominations for an individual and/or organization for an "Outstanding Service to Persons with Disabilities" Commendation; and (2) select an individual and/or an organization to receive the Commendation from the City Council.
BACKGROUND
Each year, the City of Culver City proclaims October as Disability Awareness Month. The City Council and the Culver City Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) honor one outstanding individual and/or one organization as part of the Disability Awareness Month celebration. After open nominations, the DAC selects the honorees and the City Council issues formal commendations at a public meeting.
Submissions for this year's commendations opened on July 7, 2023.
