RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Civil Service Commission approve the Promotional recruitment bulletin for Environmental Compliance Inspector.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

The Environmental Compliance Inspector position is assigned to the Environmental Programs and Operations Division of the Public Works Department.

This position is responsible for overseeing the implementation, education and tracking of various environmental programs and regulations. These programs and regulations include but are not limited to trash, recycling and food waste compliance programs, the Fats, Oils, Grease (FOG), the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), and encampment clean-up programs, as well as investigating and reporting complaints relating to the City's various environmental and sustainability requirements.

Recruitment Bulletin

The recruitment bulletin (Attachment 1) is reflective of the classification specification. We are submitting the recruitment bulletin for approval in consideration of opening a promotional recruitment.



AUTHORITY

The Commission's authority to approve new or revised recruitment bulletins is outlined in the Civil Service Rules (CSR) 6.4:
