Fulwood (02/08/06) City Controller Approval: Marlee Chang (02/08/06) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council approve the conceptual design as presented by Gillis & Associates Architects for the Police Firing Range located in the basement at 4040 Duquesne Avenue and authorize staff to advertise bids using the design/build format for building modifications and equipment installation to implement this project. The project is estimated to cost $975 000 and a budget transfer is required and staff recommends a budget amendment be approved in the amount of $466 000.00. A 4/5ths vote is required to adopt a budget amendment. DISCUSSION: Earlier last year on March 31 2005 the Demolition and Clean Up of the Police Firing Range was completed under Capital Improvement Project P 832. Subsequent to this completion Gillis & Associates was retained by the City in April 2005 to provide conceptual design alternatives for the new Police Firing Range.
