RECOMMENDATION
The City Manager's Office, Cultural Affairs Division in recognition of Christine Byers' twenty-two-year career with the City of Culver City is publicly acknowledging Ms. Byers contributions to the City and community in accordance with Civil Service Rule 15.4.
Ms. Byers began service with the City in May 2001 and retired in December 2023. During her service with the City, Ms. Byers served the Culver City community in various positions and ended her tenure as the City's Cultural Affairs Manager. The City Manager's Office recognizes Christine Byers' service as the lead staff member for Cultural Affairs. She worked across City departments to coordinate efforts that impacted arts and culture and developed partnerships with outside organizations.
Under Ms. Byers leadership, Culver City's Art in Public Places Program became nationally recognized. She also managed Culver City's Historic Preservation Program and furthered her education and developed significant expertise in the historic preservation field. Demonstrating her unwavering commitment to supporting the arts in Culver City, between 2012-2014, she performed her arts-related duties as a volunteer while working in the Fleet Services Division of the Transportation Department.
