BACKGROUND: At the December 10 2012 City Council meeting the City Council took several actions including approving the implementation of the Legislative Advocacy Program and requesting the preparation of an annual overview of new legislation for presentation to the City Council in March of each odd numbered year. All new legislation for the 2013 2014 Legislative Session was introduced by the February 22 2013 deadline as determined by the two Houses of the State Legislature. Many of the bills that have been introduced are placeholder bills the content of which may develop more fully as the legislative session progresses.
