Lamont Ewell (06/23/10) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council award a construction contract to Steiny and Company as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for the construction of the Washington Boulevard Traffic Signal Improvement Project P 909. BACKGROUND: In 2008 related to a Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP) with residents of Berryman Avenue and traffic engineering firm was hired to perform a traffic signal warrant study at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and McLaughlin Avenue. The traffic study concluded that the intersection met the warrants to install a new traffic signal. The City Council approved a capital project to fund the design and construction of a new traffic signal at the aforementioned intersection.
