RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Civil Service Commission (Commission) discuss and appoint a new Ad Hoc Subcommittee to review certain Civil Service Rules (Rules) for possible revision.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

At the Commission's January 2, 2019 regular meeting, the Commission determined to begin the review process of certain Civil Service Rules. The Commission appointed two members, Chair Daly Redholtz and Commissioner Kuechle, to serve on a Civil Service Rules Amendment Ad Hoc Subcommittee (Subcommittee) for the purpose of reviewing the current rules and presenting recommended revisions to the full Commission.

At the Commission's May 1, 2019 regular meeting, the Commission nominated and appointed new members of the Subcommittee in light of then Chair Daly Redholtz stepping down from the subcommittee. This action was considered given that the Subcommittee's work on the Rules Amendment project would not conclude prior to the end of then Chair Daly Redholtz term scheduled to end on June 30, 2019.
