RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve a Memorandum of Understanding with the County of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Flood Control District and the City of Los Angeles, regarding the administration of and cost sharing for implementing a Coordinated Integrated Monitoring Program (CIMP) for the Marina del Rey (MdR) watershed in an amount not-to-exceed $116,273.19 ($91,556.54 base amount plus $9,155.65 contingency, and $15,561.00 special study).
BACKGROUND
In December 2012, the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board (LARWQCB) adopted a new countywide Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit. The MS4 permit is in effect and identifies conditions and requirements that municipalities must comply with in order to protect the area's water resources. Permit compliance may be obtained by developing and implementing an Enhanced Watershed Management Program (EWMP) and CIMP.
