Curtis & Sons for personal protective equipment to be issued to thirty four (34) Reserve Firefighters for the new Reserve Firefighter Program in an amount not to exceed $38 000. BACKGROUND: The Fire Department is proposing to purchase personal protective equipment to outfit thirty four (34) reserve firefighters for the new Firefighter Reserve Program. DISCUSSION: The Fire Department needs to issue this personal protective equipment to Reserve Firefighters prior to the commencement of their training and assignments to Culver City Fire Stations. Department staff solicited informal quotes from two vendors L.N. Curtis & Sons and Allstar Fire Equipment Inc. Staff was able to secure very competitive pricing from L.N. Curtis & Sons.
