BACKGROUND: Planning Commission Seat #1 currently held by David Scott Malsin expires on June 30 2009. Mr. Malsin was elected to the City Council in April 2006 and this created a vacancy. Seat #5 currently held by Sheila Thomas expires on June 30 2006. Ms. Thomas has served two consecutive terms and must step down from the Planning Commission. A total of 6 people submitted timely applications indicating an interest in serving on the Planning Commission. Parks and Recreation Commission Seat #3 currently held by Jeanette James expires on June 30 2006. Ms. James was appointed to the Commission in 2002.
