RECOMMENDATION
Staff Recommends the City Council (1) adopt a Resolution accepting a $5,400,000 grant award from the California Department of Transportation's (Caltrans) Priority Legislative Budget Projects for the City of Culver for Infrastructure Electrification Project; and (2) approve a budget amendment to record the revenue and appropriate the funding for this project upon receipt of the fully executed grant agreements (requires a four-fifths vote).
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
As part of the State of California Budget for Fiscal Year 2023, Culver City Transportation Department was awarded $5.4 million in the form of an earmark for transportation facility electrification efforts. The award was sponsored by Assembly District 55 (Isaac Bryan) and utilized direct appropriation via state's annual budget process.
