BACKGROUND: The City Council places great importance on providing the community with notification of various items under consideration by the City Council and other local governmental entities. Additionally the City Council has placed particular emphasis on providing the community with a number of opportunities to participate in the discussion of proposed developments. The City Council has discussed this topic on a number of occasions. On December 3 2007 the City Council adopted City Council Policy 2007 002 related to public notification. After extensive notice was given the City Council discussed this subject again on March 30 2009.
