RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council approve a five-year general services agreement with Odyssey Power to perform on-call backup generator repairs at City-owned facilities in an amount not-to-exceed $50,000 annually, for a total amount not-exceed $250,000 over the five-year term.


BACKGROUND

The City owns 20 different critical facilities that have emergency backup power generators equipped with switching gear that automatically starts the generator when grid-supplied electricity fails. The City's critical facilities with on-site generators include City Hall, the Police Station, all three fire stations, the Communications Tower at Bill Bott's Field, the Transportation facility, the Senior Center, the Veterans Memorial Complex, and all the sewage pumping stations.
The generators and switching gear are manufactured by Generac, Cummins, John Deere, Olympian, Onan, Detroit Diesel, Kohler and Katolight.
