Fulwood (01/19/06) City Controller Approval: Marlee Chang (01/19/06) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council award construction contracts to FS Construction and Torres Construction to provide on call services to perform necessary work for the City s Minor Pavement and Infrastructure Maintenance and Repair Program P 554 in support of the Public Work Department for a total aggregate not to exceed cost of $100 000. Staff is proposing that the contracts expire June 30 2007. BACKGROUND: The Public Work Department receives numerous requests from residents business owners and city staff regarding minor roadway pavement and infrastructure repair work citywide. The Public Work Street Maintenance Division responds and addresses the majority of the requests. However due to reduction of staffing resulting from early retirements and layoffs in fiscal year 2002/2003 the Public Works Department Maintenance and Operations Division has to prioritize and respond to higher priority repair work.
