Lock as the City s representative to the Los Angeles County West Vector Control District to complete the preset term for Culver City s Trustee that ends on December 31 2006. BACKGROUND: The City of Culver City is entitled to appoint a representative (Trustee) to the Los Angeles County West Vector Control District. This position has been vacant for several years. The California Health and Safety Code restricts first time appointments of Trustees to a two (2) year term and a preset term period has been established for each city s trustee in order to provide for evenly spaced turnovers on the Board. Culver City Trustee s normal term period begin on January 1 2005 and will end on December 31 2006. This appointment will be for the remaining duration of the term from the date of appointment. The Trustee is required to be a resident and elector of the city. DISCUSSION: The City has advertised for the position and has received one application. The applicant Mr. Kenneth W.
