RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC) consider the information provided and make comments as appropriate.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Katy Krantz was appointed Culver City Artist Laureate by the City Council on January 9, 2023 for a two-year term ending December 31, 2024. The Ad Hoc Artist Laureate Subcommittee (Chair Fleischer and Commissioner Wisnosky Stehlin) have conducted three meetings with Ms. Krantz and staff (in March, April, and May 2023) to discuss the role of Artist Laureate as cultural ambassador, potential community projects, and collaboration opportunities with Culver City Arts Foundation (Culver Arts).
The Subcommittee requested that Ms. Krantz prepare written reports and make verbal presentations to the Cultural Affairs Commission on a semi-annual basis. This is the first of those reports. Ms. Krantz has provided the attached written report of current and projected projects and will present a verbal update during the Commission meeting.
FISCAL ANALYSIS
Other than staff time, there are no additional costs associated with this agenda item.
