Fulwood (01/009/08) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council approve a professional services agreement with Unmack Everett Environmental to provide design and inspection services for the environmental analysis and other related services at the Lindberg Hut facility located at Lindberg Park. BACKGROUND: The City owns the Lindberg Park Hut located at 5041 Rhoda Way. Preliminary tests indicate asbestos and lead paint may be present at this location. Based upon these preliminary tests staff is recommending further testing be undertaken and if necessary remediation and abatement be completed. DISCUSSION: The evaluation of City facilities development of asbestos/lead paint abatement work specifications and inspection and monitoring of the Contractor s abatement work requires the specialized expertise of a consultant who is familiar with the legal requirements of regulatory agencies such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency).
