BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: BHC members are charged with upholding the mission goals and objectives established by State statute for the Board attend regularly scheduled Board meetings and any additional ad hoc meetings and represent the diversity of the surrounding community. Currently Marta Zaragoza is the City Council s nominated and appointed Governor s representative. Recently Governor Schwarzenegger s staff contacted the CAO s Office to inform staff that Ms. Zaragoza s term was set to expire on August 22 2005. The City Council is presented with a choice to either recommend Ms. Zaragoza for an additional two year appointment or present a list of three nominees for the Governor s consideration and appointment.
