RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council make an appointment to fill a vacancy for Seat Number 1 for an unexpired term ending June 30, 2016 on the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services (PRCS) Commission.


BACKGROUND/ DISCUSSION:

At the City Council Meeting of January 4, 2016, the City Council directed the City Manager to contact 2015 unappointed applicants for all Commissions, Committees, and Boards to gauge their interest in being considered to fill a vacancy on the PRCS Commission. The vacancy was created by the resignation of Dr. Kelly Kent Marin, whose unexpired term ends on June 30, 2016.

The City Clerk's Office reached out to the pool of thirty (30) eligible prior applicants on January 5, 2016 via email and received a response from nine (9). Each of the nine were provided the opportunity to update their application.

Attached is a spreadsheet that shows the applicants listed in alphabetical order and includes the body or bodies to which they originally applied in 2015, as well as who chose to submit a new or amended application.
