RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council (City Council) authorize the City Manager to
prepare and execute a letter to Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority (Metro)
requesting that Metro rename the Venice/Robertson station as the Culver City
Station.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
According to Metro staff it may be possible to rename the Venice/Robertson Station
as the Culver City Station. To do so, staff recommends the City Council authorize
the City Manager to prepare and execute a letter requesting such renaming. The
letter would be presented to the Metro Board later this year.
FISCAL ANALYSIS:
The renaming of the station will not result in a cost to Culver City. If the station is
renamed, it could have positive fiscal impacts for the City.
MOTION:
That the City Council:
Authorize the City Manager to prepare and execute a letter to Metro requesting
that the Venice/Robertson station be renamed the Culver City Station.
