Action Item: X Attachments: Department Approval: Bill La Pointe (07/01/09) Fiscal Impact Approval: N/A City Attorney Approval: N/A City Manager Approval: N/A RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Parks Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Commission select possible dates and time for scheduling: (1) tours of the parks to which the members of the City Council will be invited; (2) a tour of recreation programs; and (3) a tour of the Museum of Tolerance. BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: Park Tours Each year staff accompanies the Parks and Recreation Commission on one or more tours of City Park facilities. City Council members are always invited to join the Commission on these tours. The purpose of the tours is to familiarize appointed and elected officials with the conditions at the public parks. During the tour elected and appointed officials have the opportunity to ask questions of staff and staff has an opportunity to inform officials of issues arising in Culver City Parks. Last year the two park tours were held on Sundays during the Fall. Staff recommends that the Commissioners check their calendars and provide staff with potential park tour dates and times; staff will then check Council members availability during those dates and times.
