RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) receive and file the report regarding the DAC Community Survey.


BACKGROUND

Public Survey

At the June 8, 2022, DAC meeting, committee members authorized the transmittal of its 2022/2023 workplans which included the goal of publishing a community survey regarding individuals with disabilities in Culver City. After reviewing questions submitted by DAC members for the survey, the second draft was approved to be published at the regular meeting of December 14, 2022.

On March 28, 2023, the DAC Community Survey was published. The survey was an online survey with 14 questions covering opportunities for improvement within Culver City that individuals with disabilities and/or their caregivers would like to share with the DAC. If a member of the public did not have access to a computer, or if they needed to take the survey in Spanish, a phone number was provided to take the survey over the phone. Physical copies of the survey were also available to be picked up or shared with those who were interested in taking the survey. The DAC requested that the survey close after six weeks on May 9, 2023.
