RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC) (1) receive and file a report from the Bystander Intervention Resources Ad Hoc Subcommittee; (2) discuss and, if so desired, approve the report's recommendations; and (3) determine next steps, as deemed necessary.
BACKGROUND
At the July 23, 2024, Regular Meeting, discussion ensued surrounding the list of then current EHRAC Ad Hoc Subcommittees. Chair Bano reopened on-going discussions surrounding a Bystander Intervention Educational document with a revised focus: a document that would provide references and/or resources on bystander intervention.
At the July 23, 2024, Regular Meeting, EHRAC achieved consensus to move forward with the following:
1. Creating a Bystander Intervention Resources Ad Hoc Subcommittee; and
2. Appointing Members Samia Bano, Ifunanyachukwu Nweke, London McBride and Denice Renteria thereto.
DISCUSSION
Review the September 17, 2024, Bystander Intervention Resources Ad Hoc Subcommittee Report and proposed document. (Attachment 1)
