RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council approve an agreement with GameTime for the playground equipment and installation at Culver West Alexander Park in an amount not to exceed $759,352.95, in accordance with the grant designating Culver West Alexander Park as a National Demonstration Site.


BACKGROUND

On July 14, 2025, City Council approved establishing the playground at Culver West Alexander Park as a National Demonstration Site (NDS) and authorized the City to submit an application to GameTime for funding for playground rehabilitation. As part of an initiative created by the California Parks and Recreation Society (CPRS) along with the companies GameTime, PlayCore, Great Western Recreation, and MRC Recreation, playgrounds in need of repair and renovation can become an NDS recognized playground. An NDS playground must promote healthy play and support the creation of evidence-based play and recreation spaces across California. The three targets for the initiative are:
