RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council approve a five-year general services agreement with We R Builders, Inc. to perform on-call fence and wall repairs at 28 City-owned facilities in an amount not-to-exceed $100,000 annually, for a total amount not-to-exceed $500,000 over the five-year term.


BACKGROUND

The City has concrete wall, wrought iron, and chain link fencing located at over two dozen City-owned sites that occasionally require repair and maintenance services. Those sites include the Police Station, three fire stations, City Hall, the City Yard, the Refuse Transfer Station, the Senior Center, the Municipal Plunge, the Transportation facility, 13 City parks, six sewage pumping stations and other sites.
Fences suffer from damage caused by vandalism, vehicle accidents and storms or experience leaning in areas due to ground creep, pole support failure, plant life intrusion, or other forms of trauma.
