RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to submit an application in the amount of $6,000,000 for the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission Proposition 84 Grant for the Culver Boulevard Median Infiltration Project.
BACKGROUND
The Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission (SMBRC) is an independent, non-regulatory State entity charged with promoting comprehensive watershed and coastal resources management of Santa Monica Bay.
Proposition 84, the Safe Drinking Water, Water Quality and Supply, Flood Control, River and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2006, was passed by the voters of California on November 7, 2006. Proposition 84 allocates $90 million to the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) for coastal water quality improvement projects pursuant to the Clean Beaches Program (PRC ?30915).
