RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council approve a purchase order with National Auto Fleet Group for the purchase of two heavy-duty Commercial Chassis Cab Trucks (Ford F-550) in an amount not to exceed $401,622.24.


BACKGROUND/ DISCUSSION

The Public Works Maintenance Operations Division operates a fleet of 44 vehicles, including electric trucks, bucket trucks, parking meter repair vans, and specialized equipment to perform essential City services such as street maintenance, streetlight maintenance, and other infrastructure-related work.

The Wastewater Maintenance Division is responsible for the ongoing inspection, maintenance, and repair of the City's sewer infrastructure, including pipelines, manholes, pumping stations, and related facilities. The Division's current 2001 Ford truck is used by Sewer Lift Station Electro Mechanics to assist with repairing pumps, motors, mechanical equipment, and electrical controls associated with the wastewater collection system. This vehicle has reached the end of its useful service life, resulting in decreased reliability and increasing maintenance and repairs, and requires replacement.
