RECOMMENDATION
Staff Recommends the City Council approve a professional services agreement with Tripepi Smith and Associates for strategic communications support services for the Transportation Department in an amount not-to-exceed $30,000.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Given the volume of activity related to new and ongoing initiatives in the Transportation Department, workload related to communications activities has increased substantially. It has therefore been determined to augment existing staff resources with consultant services which will provide support for the following:
* Strategic Communications Planning - messaging development, audience targeting, talking points, and branding.
* Project Management - tracking key timelines and deliverables for the implementation of communications related tasks.
* Media Monitoring - tracking the public facing and media attention mentioning Transportation Department and related information.
* Metrics Reporting - establishment of metrics related to Transportation Department's digital resources including webpage visits, email, and social media engagement into an easily digestible report for management.
