Before introducing the ordinance for first reading the Council should decide: 1. 2. 3. Whether the City employment prohibition applies to Council Members only; OR Whether the City employment prohibition applies to local elected City officials (current City Clerk current City Treasurer Council Members). The prohibition would not apply to members of the Culver City Board of Education; AND Whether the city employment prohibition should be for one or more years after the Council Member/Elected Official leaves office. BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: At the November 19 2007 meeting the City Council directed staff to return with a discussion item to consider adding a section to the Municipal Code which would prohibit City Council Members from accepting or holding any position as a City employee after leaving office.
