RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the Culver City City Council approve an amendment to the
existing professional services agreement with Van Dorpe, Chou & Associates
(“VCA”) for contract building inspector services to meet staffing requirements for
fiscal year 2007-2008.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
In the adopted budget for Fiscal Year 2007-2008, Council appropriated $112,500 for
contract building inspector services in account number 10151500.411700 “Contract
Labor.” Staff now requests authorization to use this funding to extend the existing
professional services agreement with VCA to secure these services through fiscal
year 2007-2008.
FISCAL ANALYSIS:
The cost for one contract building inspector for fiscal year 2007-2008 is estimated at
$112,500. No further support materials or expenses are anticipated. Sufficient
funds are budgeted in Account 10151500.411700 for this expenditure. The source
of these funds is the project fees paid by Symantec.

MOTION:
That the City Council:
1. Approve an amendment to the existing professional services agreement with Van
Dorpe, Chou & Associates for Contract Building Inspector Services for Fiscal
Year 2007-2008 in an amount not-to-exceed $112,500 from account number
10151500.411700; and,
2. Authorize the City Attorney to prepare the amendment to the agreement and
authorize the City Manager to execute the amendment on behalf of the City.
