RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC): (1) dissolve and create subcommittees to reflect the FY 2025 - 2026 Cultural Affairs work plan which includes dissolution of three (3) Ad Hoc Subcommittees that have completed their specific task, creation of an Ad Hoc 2026 Performing Arts Grant Program Subcommittee; creation of an Ad Hoc Communications and Outreach Subcommittee; Subcommittee name changes as needed; and (2) Assign Commissioners to Ad Hoc and Standing Subcommittees for the fiscal year.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
At its first regular meeting in July of each year, the Cultural Affairs Commission typically reviews its subcommittees considering the City Council adopted budget and work plan for Cultural Affairs for the coming year, and two Commissioners are assigned to two or more of the CAC's subcommittees.
Subcommittee meetings are held on an as-needed basis and the frequency and agendas of subcommittee meetings are primarily staff driven. The requirements of the Ralph M. Brown Act (Brown Act) include important differences between a "Standing Committee" and "Ad Hoc Subcommittee."
