Proclamation in Honor of The Culver City Community Wide Disaster Drill.

P R O C L A M A T I O N
Community-Wide Disaster Drill Day 2005
WHEREAS, the tragic scenes from the Gulf Coast States and other areas throughout the world remind us of the potential for
disasters to strike rapidly and unexpectedly; and,
WHEREAS, one of the most important duties of the City Council is to provide for and promote the health, safety, and welfare
of the Citizens of Culver City; and,
WHEREAS, one of the best ways to keep oneself and one’s family safe during unexpected disasters is to make adequate
preparations prior to disaster striking; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council, by and through the Culver City Fire Department, wishes to encourage all citizens of Culver
City to properly prepare for future potential disasters in this year and in the future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Culver City, California hereby proclaims
December 7, 2005 as Community-Wide Disaster Drill Day 2005 and encourages all residents and business owners to participate in the
disaster drill by preparing a Family Disaster Plan, assembling a Family Disaster Supplies Kit, and downloading an “OK” Program
Sign from the City’s Website at www.culvercity.org or visiting City Hall or your local Fire Station.
