RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC) (1) discuss feasibility and potential for hosting an Indigenous People’s Day activity/event; and (2) if so desired, determine next steps.
BACKGROUND
At the June 25, 2024, Special Meeting, discussion ensued surrounding the Biannual Report. Member Rona opened discussions surrounding an Indigenous People’s Day Event/Celebration.
Indigenous People’s Day was not included in the Public Events and Budget Committee and was, thus, excluded from the biannual report. However, EHRAC achieved consensus to discuss and determine the potential for hosting an Indigenous People’s Day Event/Celebration at the July 23, 2024, EHRAC Regular Meeting.
