Nachbar (07/07/11) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council approve the amendment to the existing lease agreement (Agreement) with the State of California for use of the premises located at 10808 Culver Boulevard (the Armory). BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION: The Agreement with the State of California (the State) for City owned property located at 10808 Culver Boulevard as a National Guard Armory expires on August 31 2011. Staff has negotiated an extension of the lease through June 30 2013. All other terms of the Agreement remain unchanged. Either party may terminate the Agreement by giving a 120 day written notice of termination to the other party. FISCAL ANALYSIS: The Agreement requires the State to pay one dollar ($1) per year for the use of the premises as a National Guard Armory.
