RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Civil Service Commission approve the revised recruitment bulletin for Sewer Lift Station Electro Mechanic.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

The Sewer Lift Station Electro Mechanic position performs skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of pumps, motors, mechanical equipment, electrical controls, control valves, and electronic instrumentation devices associated with the wastewater collection systems.

Recruitment Bulletin
The recruitment bulletin reflects the necessary recruitment information, minimum requirements, the examination components, in addition to the 4% salary increase which is effective July 1, 2025, per the CCEA Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The proposed changes to the recruitment bulletin in Attachment 1, Proposed Revised Recruitment Bulletin for Sewer Lift Station Electro Mechanic, reflect added preferred language to the Training and Experience section:

preferably in storm water, urban runoff collection systems.

In addition, the Licenses and Certificates section updates the requirements to include the appropriate endorsement associated with the Class B driver license required of the position. The following language is added into the Licenses and Certifications section:

Must possess a Tanker endorsement within one year of hire date.
