Nachbar (05/02/12) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council authorize the filing of an application with the US Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance for Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) FY 2012 Program funds. BACKGROUND: The Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance has determined that Culver City is eligible to receive JAG funds through a statutory formula that is based on the violent crimes in Culver City that are reported to the State of California.Culver City s eligible allocation is $12 170 as determined by this formula. DISCUSSION: The Police Department has determined the funds will be used to purchase high efficiency computer workstations to replace several inefficient and outdated systems. The computer hardware will replace poor performing workstation components. The computer components and accessories will also help maintain system integrity.
