RECOMMENDATION:
That the Culver City Council (“Council”) support continued staff efforts to promote
Culver City’s position regarding the Exposition Light Rail Transit Line.
BACKGROUND:
The same report, which provides a detailed background and discussion section, was
transmitted to the Redevelopment Agency Board under the Agency Item related to
the Exposition Light Rail Project.
FISCAL ANALYSIS:
The Department of Transportation’s budget (fund 20368100.610400) has adequate
funding to fund $8,000 for the City portion of the public outreach campaign.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING SUPPORT OF
THE EXPOSITION LIGHT RAIL PROJECT AND DIRECTING
CITY STAFF EFFORTS WITH REGARD TO THIS
PROJECT
4=1 WHEREAS, Culver City strongly supports the Exposition Light Rail project and
encourages all parties involved to work together to secure full funding for Phase 1 to Culver
City, and
WHEREAS, Culver City also further supports additional studies and funding to
ensure implementation as soon as possible of Phase 2 of the Exposition Light Rail project to
Santa Monica, and
WHEREAS, Culver City recognizes that support of and participation in the
development of the Exposition Light Rail project will serve to help reduce traffic congestion
and better link the Westside to a range of destinations around the greater Los Angels area,
and
WHEREAS, Culver City strongly supports the need for a grade separation at
Washington and National Boulevards and will not allow light rail to cross Washington and
National Boulevards at-grade and
WHEREAS, Culver City shall continue to partner with Metro and the Exposition
Metro Line Construction Authority regarding the planning, design and development of light
rail into Culver City, and
WHEREAS, Culver City shall collaborate with Metro regarding efforts to create
and build a quality Transit Oriented Development (TOD) project within Culver City, and
WHEREAS, Culver City shall commit staff resources and shall actively work
with the community in support of a light rail project that protects the general public interest|1010101010101010101010 10

and welfare while delivering transportation mobility options to area residents and
businesses
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Culver City, DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE as follows
1 The City of Culver City supports the Exposition Light Rail project and
directs City Staff efforts with regard to this project
