BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

Culver City has issued a Draft General Plan for community review. The General Plan is intended as the City’s primary guide for land use decisions and is a key tool for shaping and improving the quality of life for residents. The Plan reflects the community’s vision for the future, input gathered in dozens of community engagement activities, and technical analysis performed since 2019. Public review will continue through November.

At the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee meeting, City staff will make a short presentation about the General Plan Update process and the General Plan content, specifically providing an overview of “Element 8: Mobility” (beginning on page 186) and the supporting mobility documents in Appendix B. “Element 8: Mobility” establishes a zero-emission transit system that better supports safe active transportation such as cycling, walking, and other forms of modes of travel utilizing emerging technology.

Committee members will have an opportunity to ask questions, make comments, and discuss.
