ATTACHMENT Youth Sports Advisory Ad Hoc Subcommittee Report Regarding the Establishment of a Culver City Youth Flag Football League Pages 1 2 AGENDA ITEM: Culver City Youth Flag Football League Presented by the PRCS of Culver City March 2015 Our Goal and Mission Statement We are going to provide a flag football league to various youth age groups. Flag football is extremely popular with the younger kids and is a safer alternative to Pop Warner tackle football. Our league will be self funded at no cost to the city. Currently flag football is not offered in Culver City. Our kids have had to go to Mar Vista Park and Cheviot Park both Los Angeles City Parks if they want to participate. These parks charge a moderate participation fee of between $120 at Mar Vista to $160 at Cheviot per player. Our league would be self funded and less expensive. The cost to our participants would be approximately $115. Our league would run concurrent with the typical Football Season usually from mid September through November. We would like to begin in 2015. We would promote our league and secure participants with posters or banners at each park through the cities web site and PRCS brochure and by handing out flyers to each elementary school. We are confident that within several weeks we would be able to fill our rosters with the goal of 120 participants for the first season.
