RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council approve a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Culver City Chamber of Commerce from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2028 relative to cooperation in certain joint events, projects and economic development-related activities.


BACKGROUND/ DISCUSSION

The City and the Culver City Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) have a long-standing relationship to elevate and align economic development programs within the community. Since 2009, the City has entered into multiple MOUs to define the organizational relationship with the Chamber. These MOUs outline specific duties and responsibilities regarding business community events and activities relative to the City's economic development efforts. The current MOU will expire on June 30, 2026; therefore, a new MOU is required to continue this collaboration.

Staff and the Chamber Board reviewed the previous MOU to ensure that the proposed agreement reflects the approved Economic Development work plan and the current Chamber programming.
