RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve an amendment to the existing
professional services agreement with EXTTI, Inc. in an amount not-to-exceed
$5,812 to provide investigative services in confidential personnel matters.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On October 23, 2006, the City Council approved a contract with EXTTI, Inc. to
provide professional investigative services.
The contract was approved for an amount not to exceed $20,000. However, due to
the complexity of the issues that was being investigated and the increased number
of witnesses interviewed, the investigation was expanded.
The investigation has concluded and summary reports have been provided to all
involved parties.
FISCAL ANALYSIS
The additional amount to increase the cost of the contract is $5,812.
There are funds available in the Human Resources Department budget line item
10122100.611200 – Legal Services to cover this expenditure.

MOTION
That the City Council:
1. Approve an amendment to the existing professional services agreement
with EXTTI, Inc. to provide professional investigative services for
confidential personnel matters; and,
2. Authorize the City Attorney to prepare the necessary documents and
authorize the City Manager to execute such documents on behalf of the
City.
