RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Disability Advisory Committee receive and file the report regarding the Disability Advisory Committee Bylaws and a Summary of The Brown Act
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Staff has prepared this report in order to present the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) Bylaws (Attachment 1), a Summary of The Brown Act (Attachment 2), and Robert's Rules of Order (Attachment 3) to the new (DAC) Members with the opportunity for discussion.
Bylaws
At the April 12, 2017, City Council meeting, the City Council approved and adopted Resolution Number 2017-R040, which created the Disability Advisory Committee and established its Bylaws. The Bylaws are outlined using the following sections:
1. The Purpose of the Committee
2. The Organization
3. The Duties
4. The Officers
5. The Meetings
6. Staff Support
7. Amendment to the Bylaws
The Bylaws define the terms of office, the designation of officers, and the duties of the officers. It also establishes the following types of meetings and assigns the meetings specific times in the year:
1. Regular Meetings
2. Special Meetings
