Nachbar (12/07/12) Phone Number: 310 253 5619 General Fund: Yes No X Attachments: X Action Item: RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council: 1) Award a contract to Williams Pipeline Contractors Inc. as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the amount of $38 900 for the construction of the Kerr Way Sewer Replacement Project P 230; and 2) Authorize the Public Works Director/City Engineer to increase the construction contract with Williams Pipeline Contractors Inc. in an amount not to exceed $3 890 (10% of base bid) for construction contingencies. BACKGROUND/ DISCUSSION: The existing sewer main pipe on Kerr Way was video inspected and determined to need replacement with a new pipe. A new eight inch diameter sewer main and sewer laterals were designed by Staff. There are six properties on Kerr Way and their sewer laterals will be reconnected at the property lines.
